Our Story
Inspiration
Bladi was founded by my cousin and I, two proud children of first-generation immigrants. Growing up, we were deeply shaped by the cultural strength and resilience of our families, especially, the stories our grandfather told us about Algeria’s rich and complex history. His voice carried the spirit of generations, and as those voices begin to fade, we feel a deep responsibility to carry them forward.
In Arabic, بلادي (Bladi) translates to my country. But to us, it means more than that. It means our home, our family, our roots. It’s a word that holds memory, connection, and identity. Bladi is our tribute to where we come from and the legacy that continues to shape us.
Design
Bladi’s visual identity is rooted in minimalism with meaning. Our collections feature hand-drawn illustrations that echo the simplicity of form while capturing the depth of our heritage. Each design is intentionally understated, symbolizing how a single line can connect us back to our culture, our past, and our sense of belonging. Our aesthetic is clean, modern, and thoughtful, designed to resonate with those who value subtle storytelling in what they wear.
Purpose
Bladi exists to preserve culture through expression. In a world that moves fast and forgets quickly, our mission is to make heritage visible and wearable. We create clothing that goes beyond fashion.
